Arles: A Roman city that never stopped being one.
Arles has an amphitheatre in use, a theatre in use and a necropolis you can walk through. A historian reads the Roman city in the modern one, the early Christian Alyscamps, the Romanesque portal of Saint-Trophime, and the fifteen months in 1888 and 1889 that made Arles a colour.

The timeline the walk follows
Caesar’s veterans settle a Rhône port.
Twenty thousand seats, still used.
The Christian necropolis and Constantine’s city.
The Romanesque portal and cloister.
Fifteen months, two hundred paintings.

Questions
About Arles.
Are monument tickets included?
No. The walk explains them from outside and inside where free; the Arles pass covers entries and we can time the walk around it.
Can the walk be entirely Roman?
Yes. Two hours on the Roman city alone is one of our most requested themes.
Cancellation?
Free cancellation up to 7 days before the walk. Within 7 days the walk is non refundable, since the historian has reserved the time. We reschedule for severe weather at no cost.
