Germany
Weimar: Goethe, Schiller, the Bauhaus, a constitution and a camp.
Weimar is a small town where German history keeps happening. A historian walks Goethe’s house and Schiller’s, the theatre where the Republic’s constitution was written in 1919, the first Bauhaus building, and the road up the Ettersberg to Buchenwald.

The timeline the walk follows
Invited by an eighteen year old duke; he stays for life.
The two poets, the theatre and Weimar Classicism.
The National Assembly writes the constitution in the theatre.
Gropius founds the school; it leaves for Dessau in 1925.
The camp on the hill above the town.
